Ok, so we've had a lot of threads, on various forums, from Shadow Priests and Affliction Warlocks about this subject. We've had some other specs / classes which use DoTs comment about how it's bad that DoTs don't scale with Haste. So far I've yet to see a single serious poster actually disagree with or like the fact that DoTs don't scale with Haste. I also haven't seen a solution offered up that hasn't been shot down. So here's a solution I've done a bit of thinking about over the past couple of weeks. It has a few problems, that I'll get into later on, but I really think this concept could go somewhere, and I'd like to get thoughts and opinions from others in the community.

Haste Rating can be a bit of a confusing stat for Shadow Priests.  At first glance, it seems simple enough, if you have enough Haste Rating for 1% Haste, your spells are cast 1% faster.  However, there are a ton of our spells that are instant casts.  We have DoTs, and those don't really benefit from Haste at all. So many people seem to think that Haste is a worthless stat.

Well folks, it's not really all that bad a stat.  It's just an odd stat, and one that requires a bit of careful management to benefit from properly.  Follow on after the break to learn exactly what benefits we gain from stat, and how to take advantage of them.

Tonight I've got some updates on a couple of our glyphs.  We were expecting some changes with 3.2, but it looks like things got messed up.

So, last night I logged on to WoW and some of my guildmates were preparing a Heroic ToC run.  I was interested in going myself, but there was a problem.  None of our tanks were online.  Luckily, my GM SamuelTempus (Hey look, he blogs as well) has a well geared Prot Paladin, so he volunteered to switch characters and I got an invite.

Well, I walked in, we got buffed up, and when I looked around I realized we had four priests in the group and we were all in Shadow Form.  We started trying to figure out who was going to heal, when a suggested was floated.  "What about Vampiric Emprace?" Well, VE does stack, and we were all in a group... the priests would get 40% of our combined DPS as heals, the Tank would get 20%, he could use Judgement of Light and we could keep PW:S up on everybody.  So we gave it a shot...
